Human remains found outside an abandoned home in New Britain this week have been identified as belonging to a child, police said.

The remains were discovered Wednesday outside a home at 80 Clark St. after officers responded there on the report of “suspicious behavior,” according to the New Britain Police Department .

On Friday, police said investigators learned from the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner that the remains “are that of an adolescent female.” It was not immediately clear whether investigators have been able to identify the girl.
