On Oct. 9 the Poughkeepsie Children's Cabinet announced the Wallace Foundation is awarding them $5-6 million dollars over the course of six years, from 2026 to 2031.
The funding will be put toward middle school and early high school students' out-of-school opportunities, programs and spaces.
The Poughkeepsie Children's Cabinet was one of seven communities in the country selected for the initiative.
