SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO) - A man was arrested Thursday afternoon for domestic assault in Vermillion.

At 12:12 p.m. Thursday, the Vermillion Police Department (VPD) responded to a report of a domestic assault on Cottage Avenue, according to a press release from the VPD.

The suspect fled before officers arrived. The Vermillion School District was also notified due to the location.

The suspect, Christian Vilchez, 32, of Vermillion was found and had barricade
