FINLAND, Minn. (Northern News Now) - The Crosby Fire has grown another 50 acres, now up to 210 acres north of Finland.

According to the Minnesota Interagency Fire Center, the blaze spread overnight.

Crews are getting a better handle on the fire as well, with containment now up to 35%.

Due to the spread and gusty northwest winds forecast for Friday, a portion of the Superior Hiking Trail closed Friday morning.

Crews will continue fighting the flames from the ground and air as teams around the perimeter work to put down more lines to increase containment levels.

The fire started Wednesday afternoon in George Crosby Manitou State Park, and was 15-20 acres upon the first report from authorities.

A cause is unknown.
