Sometimes football teams move up and down the field but don't score many points.

The Ventura College squad has not been one of those teams.

The unbeaten Pirates (5-0, 2-0) average 570 yards of offense (more than that, actually, when the regular quarterbacks throw the ball) and 49.4 points a game. Hancock (3-2, 2-0) will host Ventura in a Northern League game Saturday at 2 p.m. The game will mark Hancock's Military Appreciation Day.

Ventura leads the series between the teams 24-18 and has beaten Hancock 12 straight times. Hancock is 2-0 at home this year. Both of those wins came against winless teams, Orange Coast and Santa Ana.
