A coastal nor’easter forming off Florida is expected to move up the East Coast on Oct. 11, reaching New Jersey on Oct. 12 bringing heavy rain, gusty winds and coastal flooding to parts of the state, forecasters said.

The storm’s main impacts will be felt in South Jersey, Monmouth County and other coastal areas, with wind gusts over 50 mph, 2 to 4 inches of heavy rain and the potential for coastal flooding. Temperatures during the storm are expected to stay mostly in the 50s.

However, Meteorologist Dave Radell with the NWS said North Jersey is expecting 1 to 2 inches of rainfall, closer to 2 inches near New York City.
