Bristol Labour councillor suspended after 'racist' Facebook comment View 2 Images

A Labour councillor on Bristol City Council has been suspended from the party after making a comment under a post on a community Facebook page which others labelled 'racist', and prompted complaints from Green Party councillors.

Cllr Fabian Breckels (Lab, St George Troopers Hill) deleted the comment fairly quickly, but not before other members of the 'Not Booty But... BS5' community Facebook page had called him out for making it. The comments were screenshot by neighbouring councillors, who said they were complaining to the council's monitoring officer, and who called on him to resign or for Labour to 'remove' him.
