Department for Education big update to four-day school week plan View Image

A campaign calling for a four-day school week for pupils has dramatically gained momentum - forcing the Department for Education to issue an official statement.

The petition on the Parliament website has now reached over 100,000 signatures, which means MPs will be required to debate the proposal.

The petition, launched by Steve Smith, declares : "We urge the Government to require all schools to reduce the school week to four instead of five days by making each school day one hour longer whilst requiring the school week to be four instead of five days."
