BATON ROUGE, La. (Louisiana First) -- The Louisiana Board of Regents says an investigation is still underway after a cyber incident disrupted the Louisiana Office of Student Financial Assistance (LOSFA) and took the START college savings program offline.
As of 9 a.m. on October 10, officials reported that 2,640 START account holders had accessed the system. The program was brought back online Oct. 9 with limited features, the first step toward complete restoration.
Officials stated that all START accounts are secure and have been closely monitored by LOSFA, the Board of Regents, the State Treasurer, and partner banks throughout the disruption.
