BATON ROUGE, La. (Louisiana First) -- Keeping football fun and inclusive, one local group is kicking off game day with a twist: a sobriety tailgate celebrating the LSU Tigers.

With Homecoming and Parents Day taking place this weekend, the celebration doesn’t have to revolve around alcohol.

Avenues Recovery Center is hosting its second sober tailgate of the season, celebrating the Tigers the sober way. Operations Manager David Beckham said the effort is about showing fans there are other ways to enjoy the game.

"It's important that we set up these booths, so we can communicate to those that are interested how they can have a good time without all of the drugs and alcohol," said Beckham.
