(FOX40.COM) —One hundred and thirty-five ballots that had been stolen in Woodland were recovered, Yolo County officials said Thursday.
According to the county, ballots and other correspondence were stolen from four multi-residence mailboxes.
Upon recovery, authorities found that some of the mail had gotten wet and that 30 of the ballots were too damaged to be re-mailed, the county said.
The county said it would reach out to affected voters to ensure they received either their original or a replacement ballot.
According to the county, return envelopes for replacement ballots will have an identification number ending in “-2.”
