The Jefferson County Sheriff's Office will hold a press conference today at 11 a.m. at JCSO headquarters in Birmingham, Alabama, to detail the success of Operation Guardian Sweep, a multi-agency partnership created to reduce crime across the county.

"Operation Guardian Sweep is a reflection of disciplined leadership and shared responsibility," said Jefferson County Sheriff Mark Pettway. "When we move together—strategically, respectfully, and decisively—we don't just deter crime, we restore confidence, we protect legacy, and we prove that unity is our greatest strength."

The initiative aims to deter violent crime, disrupt repeat offender activity, and restore community confidence through a unified law enforcement presence and action.
