A woman died and another was injured in a crash involving three vehicles in Marion County Thursday.

It happened at 5:15 p.m. on U.S. 43 about four miles south of Hackleburg,

Kristi C. King, 50, was driving a 2014 Jeep Wrangler that collided head-on with a 2025 Kia Soul. Prior to the initial impact, the Soul was struck by a 2012 Jeep Wrangler driven by a 19-year-old, according to troopers.

King, who was not using a seat belt, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The female driver of the Soul was injured and taken to Russellville Hospital.

The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency Highway Patrol Division is investigating the crash.
