A Broward Sheriff's Office deputy was arrested and charged in an alleged incident of domestic violence after he refused to let his wife leave a room and pushed her violently, according to an arrest report.
Deputy Steven Nesbitt, 29, was arrested by Plantation police after a fight with his wife on May 19, the report states. Police received new information about the alleged crime in August and took Nesbitt into custody on Thursday.
It started when his wife came home and they were involved in a "verbal argument," which she recorded on video "out of fear of harm from her husband."
Authorities said video shows how she entered their children's bedroom and Nesbitt blocked her exit, saying "repeatedly" that he did not intend to move so she could leave.
