Verizon users are reporting issues with their cellular and internet service early Friday, Oct. 10 in what appears to be a service outage impacting users nationwide, including in California.

Downdetector , which tracks service outages, shows a spike in reports submitted by users in the early morning hours of Oct. 10. A map of where user-submitted problems are concentrated shows that Verizon users across the nation, including in Los Angeles, are reportedly having issues with the provider.

Social media users say they’re dealing with “SOS” mode on their phones to a lack of internet service.

But the troubles for some Verizon customers began on Thursday, Oct. 9, according to the Bergen Record , which is part of the USA TODAY Network.
