The Université de Sudbury has announced that its president and vice-chancellor, Serge Miville, will be awarded the Ordre de la Pléiade.
Miville will also be invested as a Knight of the Order on Nov. 25 at a ceremony at Queen’s Park in Toronto, in the presence of Edith Dumont, the Lieutenant Governor of Ontario.
Among his many accomplishments as a researcher, historian and administrator, Miville is recognized for his deep commitment and expertise in the field of Francophone minority rights, as well as his institutional and university leadership, a release said.
He successfully guided the Université de Sudbury through its transformation into a French-language university governed according to the par-et-pour principle (by and for), the release said. The university reopened its doors last
