COLDWATER, Mich. — A Coldwater woman was arrested for Driving While Intoxicated (DWI) after driving the wrong way on I-69 and crashing head-on into another vehicle.

Coldwater Police said witnesses called 911 around 12:30 a.m. Friday morning to report a reckless driver heading southbound on I-69. The witnesses told police that the vehicle, a 2012 GMC Acadia driven by the suspect, had ran off the road into a ditch. The Arcadia then drove back onto the interstate, police said.

When a Coldwater Police officer found the suspect's Acadia, it was traveling northbound in the southbound lanes near the US-12 interchange. Police said that the officer turned on his lights and siren and followed the vehicle at about 45 mph in the wrong direction, using the lights and siren to warn oncoming drivers.
