Shillong, Oct 10: Leader of Opposition Mukul Sangma has expressed deep concern over the law and order situation in Meghalaya, particularly in light of the recent deaths of two minor children.

He said there is a need for a comprehensive understanding of the complexities surrounding lawlessness and criminal activities in the state.

Speaking to media persons today, Sangma stressed the importance of addressing petty crimes, which he believes can escalate into larger criminal activities.

He pointed out that incidents of theft, cattle lifting, and other criminal activities are becoming increasingly common in rural areas, often involving organized groups.
