A Royal Oak man is headed to prison for breaking into his former girlfriend’s home, forcing her to stay there and then shooting her after she stabbed him to escape.

At a hearing Oct. 9 in Oakland County Circuit Court, Jonah Lowe, 28, was sentenced to 95 months to 20 years incarceration for home invasion, and concurrent sentences of 95 months to 15 years for unlawful imprisonment and discharge of a firearm at or in a building causing injury, two to 10 years for assault with intent to do great bodily harm, and two to four years for felonious assault. He also was sentenced to two years for felony firearm, to be served consecutively to the other prison terms.

Lowe was found guilty of all the charges at the conclusion of a jury trial last month before Judge Jeffery Matis.
