The Waterford Police Department is investigating the deaths of a Waterford Township couple in their 90s from what appears to be a murder-suicide, officials said.
Police responded to a home on Crescent Road at around 6 p.m. Wednesday on a report of two people dead inside the residence, according to Waterford Police Chief Scott Underwood. A 97-year-old woman and 96-year-old man were found seated in the living room with fatal gunshot wounds, Underwood stated in a news release.
A handgun was recovered from the scene, he stated.
A preliminary investigation indicates murder-suicide, Underwood stated.
Detectives determined that both had “extensive” medical histories, Underwood stated. No other information, including the names of the couple, has been released yet.
