Former WNBA and USC basketball player Shay Murphy says her 2014 season championship ring was stolen from her San Fernando Valley apartment.

Murphy, who won the WNBA title with the Phoenix Mercury that year, said she noticed the ring was missing when she was recently moving out of the apartment in Sherman Oaks . Murphy said she hired a group of movers off the street who were not associated with a professional moving company.

The ring is valued at about $10,000, but also represents the dedication and effort put into reaching the WNBA and winning a championship.
