The family of John O’Keefe , the Boston police officer who Karen Read was acquitted of killing , is seeking to add a San Diego attorney to their legal team in a wrongful death lawsuit pending against her in Massachusetts.

In court papers filed Wednesday in Plymouth Superior Court, attorneys for the O’Keefe family, requested that California litigator Bibianne “Bibi” Fell be added to the plaintiffs’ roster for the lawsuit.

Attorneys licensed to practice in other states must receive permission from the court to represent clients in matters pending in Massachusetts.

“Bibi primarily practices in the areas of catastrophic personal injury and wrongful death‚” says Fell’s website.
