FOUNTAIN INN — Videos watched by millions show flames billowing from behind the front windows of a two story home, smoke pooling above the porch. A dull orange glow fills the yard while drivers stop in the street to gape.
But what’s displayed isn’t a real fire — it’s just one hot Halloween display in this small town 30 minutes from Greenville.
“You win! See you next year!” one person commented on a TikTok video that more than 3 million people have watched.
The setup is so scary and realistic it’s actually tricked some passersby into calling the Fountain Inn Fire Department .
“Please do not call the fire department again!” begged the home’s owner, Amanda Peden, on Facebook.
