JAMES ISLAND — A juvenile was hit by two vehicles during an early-morning bicycle ride Oct. 8, resulting in his hospitalization, police say.
Charleston police responded to a suburban neighborhood on Dills Bluff Road a little before 12:30 a.m., according to an incident report. A juvenile boy was receiving medical care from first responders in the Darwin Street intersection.
The boy’s father was able to confirm his son’s identity to officers on the scene, the report states. The boy’s name and age were not publicly released.
The boy told officers he’d been riding his bicycle on Dills Bluff Road when two cars quickly came up behind him. He said that the vehicles looked like they were racing, the report states.
