OWENSBORO, Ky. (WEVV) — One person is dead after a crash that happened in Owensboro on Friday.

As we reported, police shut down the intersection of Old Hartford Road and Triplett Street after a crash that happened around 11 a.m.

Owensboro Police now tell us a motorcyclist was headed south down Triplett Street when they crashed into another driver who was headed west down Old Hartford Road.

Police say the motorcyclist was taken to the hospital, but that they were pronounced dead shortly after arriving.

OPD's Accident Reconstruction Investigators have responded to the scene to continue the investigation.

The identity of the person who died wasn't immediately released, pending family notification.
