A Detroit woman is facing three felony charges for crimes connected to her work as a teller at a Troy bank.
Rhodesia Jones, 25, is charged with embezzlement from a financial institution, a 20-year felony, and two counts of failure to file taxes/filing false tax return/payment, punishable by up to five years in prison.
Prosecutors allege Jones stole approximately $80,000 from customers’ accounts while working as a teller at PNC Bank in Troy from June 2023 to May 2024.
At her arraignment Oct. 8 before 52-4 Magistrate Elizabeth Chiappelli, a personal bond of $50,000 was set, which doesn’t require cash or surety to be posted. Jones’ next court appearance is scheduled for Oct. 16.
