AMARILLO, Texas (KFDA) - An convicted sex offender with distinctive tattoos on his face was able to travel freely from state to state without alerting authorities--until he was hit by a car in Amarillo, Texas.

James Daniel Duncan, 38, was booked into Randall County Jail yesterday for violating the terms of his supervised release (a form of probation used by federal courts).

Duncan was arrested in September 2023 on a federal charge of failing to register as a sex offender.

Duncan has a criminal history in eleven states.

According to court documents, Duncan was originally arrested in Washington state in 2010 on a charge of Rape of a Child.

The victim was a 14-year-old girl who told law enforcement that she met Duncan on Halloween night and went with him to his camp area under a bridge t
