A Blue Island man already accused of punching a woman at the Loyola Red Line CTA station last month is now facing a slew of new charges for similar attacks nearly all of which happened near North Side CTA train stations, most recently on Thursday and Wednesday.
Derek Rucker, 37, was charged with three counts of aggravated battery to a transit employee or passenger, two counts of aggravated battery in a pubic place and aggravated battery to a peace officer, all of which are felonies, Chicago police said.
The most recent alleged attack was Thursday in the 500 block of North State Street, near the Grand Avenue Red Line stop when Rucker allegedly battered a 44-year-old woman in the face, causing her to fall to the ground, police said.
