Days after a popular bully dog treats sold in the Midwest were recalled for potential salmonella contamination, another brand of pet food treats was also recalled for salmonella, with officials warning that infections could spread to humans.
Foodynamics, of Wales, Wisconsin, is voluntarily recalling certain lots of Raw Dog Barkery, BellePepper Cats, and Kanu Pets brand freeze dried pet treats because they could be contaminated with Salmonella, an announcement posted Oct. 9 from the Food and Drug Administration said .
The products -- whole, sliced and freeze-dried chicken hearts for both cats and dogs -- were sold in 3-ounce and 16-ounce packages and distributes to certain stores in Wisconsin, Florida and New York, the FDA said.
