David Gustafsson remains in the Winnipeg Jets organization.

The forward cleared waivers on Friday, per Sportsnet’s Elliotte Friedman, and will report to the AHL’s Manitoba Moose.

Gustafsson, a second-round draft pick by the Jets in 2018, has been a reliable, defensive presence in the team’s bottom six. In 108 career NHL games, he has registered 16 points.

The 25-year-old last played in the AHL in 2021-22, where he registered 30 points in 47 games. With the Moose, Gustafsson will be able to take on an larger role and expand on the 8:59 of average ice time he had in the NHL.
