ASPEN HILL, Md. — After an 11-year-old girl was killed in a crash with a Montgomery County Public Schools bus , police released new details on Friday.

Summer Lim, 11, was killed Thursday afternoon when a school bus driver hit her while turning right onto southbound Russett Road, police said. Summer was biking eastbound on Bauer Drive, in the same direction as the bus. She was found near the back of the bus, authorities said.

No one else was injured. Several students aboard the bus apparently witnessed the crash and called 911.

Police responded to the intersection after multiple calls that a bicyclist had been hit by the bus.

The bus was bringing students home from Earle B. Wood Middle School. A second bus came to the scene and brought the students home.
