CHARLES COUNTY, Md. — A student at Glymont Middle School fell ill when they ate a gummy candy containing cannabis, according to law enforcement in Charles County.

Police say a 13-year-old was taken to a hospital as a precaution.

A school resource officer determined that other students were involved and initiated an investigation that included a search of students’ lockers.

According to law enforcement, administrative officials discovered a cell-phone-shaped stun gun in another 13-year-old student’s locker, and marijuana was found in a locker belonging to a 14-year-old.

A bag of THC gummies was also recovered from a trash can after a 13-year-old was seen disposing of it.

They say no other students reported feeling ill.
