SALT LAKE CITY (ABC4) — The Salt Lake City Planning Commission has approved the design review of a new Salt Lake City apartment complex marketed toward students.

Earlier this week, the planning commission voted 7-0 to approve the review for the purpose-built student housing opportunity that would be located at 410 South 900 East.

Walker Wood, vice president of development at Cole West, the developer behind the project, said that the student population in SLC is underserved.

Salt Lake City is home to the University of Utah, Ensign College, Salt Lake Community College, Westminster College, and Neumont College. Wood stated that each of these schools contribute to SLC's vibrant and unique culture.
