New border rules come into effect across the European Union from this Sunday, changing the information which UK tourists will need to supply to enter 29 countries in the Schengen area.

The changes will come into effect from Sunday, October 12, as the EU launches the new Entry/Exit System (EES) which will require British travellers to supply additional data at passport control.

To visit 29 countries in the Schengen area, including popular holiday destinations such as Spain , Greece and Portugal , Brits will now be required to supply biometric data when they reach border control.
