STEVENS POINT − The University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point is hosting a lecture on the history of cannabis in Wisconsin.

The event, titled "The History of Cannabis in Wisconsin and Beyond," is set for 5:30 p.m. Oct. 14, according to a community announcement. It is part of the 2025-26 College of Letters and Science Community Engagement Series. This lecture is rescheduled from the original date of Sept. 23.

The lecture will be led by Brian Barringer, a professor and chair of the Department of Biology. Barringer will discuss the university's research and teaching program focused on cannabis, as well as the plant's history and evolving role in the state.
