Netflix’s “House of Guinness” is a Netflix hit. But how does the real Guinness family feel about the historical drama, based on their family’s history?

The show, which recounts the rise of the Irish brewery, shows a fictionalized version of what happened when Sir Benjamin Lee Guinness, grandson of Guinness founder Arthur Guinness, died and left his fortune to his kids.

“It’s the extraordinary story of a family who happens to be the inheritors of the biggest brewery in the world,” series creator Steven Knight told Netflix’s press site Tudum in an interview.

“They’re young and are given the task of taking on this incredibly successful brand. The first priority is: Don’t screw it up. And the second priority is to make Guinness even bigger.”
