The Strathcona County Food Bank’s newest project, the Nourish Centre, has started making headway on the building process.

The hope is that the foundation will be done before winter hits, with construction beginning next week.

The new facility will be located northest of the roundabout on Broadway Boulevard and Broadview Drive in Sherwood Park.

The Nourish Centre aims to provide a shopping-like experience for users of the food bank, with walk-in freezers and coolers so that clients can select their own food items.

The hope is to have the building done in 13 or 14 months.
