A chartered bus carrying Georgia football and athletic department support staffers was involved in what the school called a “a minor traffic incident,” on Friday afternoon, Oct. 10, on the way to Alabama for a game Saturday night at Auburn.
No staff sustained injuries, according to the school.
The incident happened outside of Athens on Georgia State Route 316. No further details were immediately available.
Georgia staffers were in a bus chartered by Champion. They were to resume travel on another bus.
The Georgia team is flying out of Athens to Montgomery.
“We are thankful for the quick response of local law enforcement and emergency personnel,” UGA athletics said in a statement.
