CLARKSBURG W.Va. (WV News) — Recent data has shown teens in West Virginia are vaping more than teens in any other U.S. state. Health care workers and school faculty are working to mitigate this issue.

According to Drugwatch, 35.7% of high school teens in West Virginia admit to currently using electronic vaping products, which is the biggest percentage reported in the U.S.

It was also reported that 17% of middle schoolers in the state vape, which according to Drugwatch, is five times the national average.

Jody Sperry, the coordinator of health services for the Harrison County Board of Education, said she has seen a notable increase in vaping during her time in West Virginia schools.
