The Boston Red Sox have been connected to pending free agent first baseman Pete Alonso multiple times already in the young offseason.

With an obvious need for an additional power bat in 2026, the five-time All-Star would be a good fit for the Red Sox as they try to build off their 2025 playoff berth.

Bleacher Report’s Erik Beaston discussed the pending free agencies of both Alonso and Philadelphia Phillies slugger Kyle Schwarber on Friday and predicted that the former could end up in Boston next season.
