A 'significant' coastal storm is on tap this weekend for coastal Delaware and New Jersey.

Delaware Weather Network chief meteorologist Matt Powell said a confluence of systems will zero in on the Atlantic coast in a storm that will have it all.

"There's going to be a strong difference in pressure, it's called a pressure gradient, between a high to the north and then this developing low, and this difference in pressure creates the strong winds," he said. "in addition to 60 plus mile an hour winds along the coast, and two to four inches of rain, you're going to be looking at waves of ten plus feet, talking about significant beach erosion."

And it's going to be a multi-day event.

"This is not something that's here and gone in twelve hours, this is going to be here and gone in three days,"
