LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WAVE) - A JCPS teacher appeared before a federal magistrate Friday afternoon, charged with distributing and possessing child pornography.

51-year-old Brian Hinds is a local actor and teacher at duPont Manual’s Youth Performing Arts School. He was arrested Thursday after allegedly sharing child porn videos online with an undercover federal investigator.

In a statement released Friday, the US Attorney said, “While the investigation is ongoing, authorities have not presently identified any victim that is a current or former student of duPont Manual High School. If local victims are later identified, authorities will directly and immediately make contact with victims or the parents/guardians of minor victims.”

The words were a small amount of relief for anxious parents.
