DENVER (KDVR) -- Members of the community are coming together and raising funds after a fire at a Nederland shopping center destroyed over a dozen businesses.
Locals tell FOX31 that the shopping center was like the "heart of Nederland" as it was home to many community resources and small businesses, including a police sub-station, a doctor's office, a music store, a nature center with live animals, a winery, a brewery and more.
The rubble left behind from the devastating fire was still smoldering on Friday morning, and multiple agencies are working to determine the cause of the fire.
In the meantime, the community is coming together to support those affected by the blaze.
