GREENVILLE, S.C. —

As Fall for Greenville kicks off this weekend, some guests may have noticed the Greenville Fire Department responding to a scene downtown on Friday afternoon.

Around 3 p.m., firefighters responded to 111 East McBee Street, known as the Bookends, which is a condo/mixed use development.

According to the fire department, there was no visible fire, but smoke was present in the building. Firefighters spent some time ventilating the building.

Fire officials did not say what may have caused the smoke. No injuries have been reported.
