Gateway Residential & Community Support Services is receiving up to $18.9 million over the next three years in long-awaited funding to help people experiencing chronic homelessness overcome addictions and mental health issues.
Gateway program director Shelly Mousseau said the agency received funding approval for “everything we requested” from the provincial government to launch the program called HART Hub (Homelessness and Addiction Recovery Treatment).
The hub will provide treatment options “for clients with all kinds of unique needs, who may not be able to traditionally get services.”
“We’re so excited to move forward with this in our community, and be able to provide that extra amount of support in Niagara,” Mousseau said in an interview Friday.
