Grand Rapids clinic provides free dental work for military members amid shutdown

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — With the federal government still shut down and no solution in sight, some service members' health care coverage is among the affected programs.

On Friday, Precision Family Dental in Grand Rapids held its fifth free dental day for veterans and active-duty military members.

"We're trying to fill that gap. We know it's a small gap, but we believe every little bit counts," Dr. Adam Piotrowski said.

From a cleaning to a filling or extraction, tools were running nonstop as Piotrowski and his team served the people who serve our country.

"They give their all for us and often they come out of their service having been made certain promises and they don't always get the care they've been promised," Piotrowski said.
