One person has died after they fell from a cell tower in Marion Friday afternoon, according to a press release from the Marion Fire Department.

The department was dispatched to the tower at 3602 10th Street at 12:30 p.m. for a report of someone who had fallen and was unconscious and bleeding.

CPR had been started by people on scene before first responders arrived, but it was unsuccessful, and the individual was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the release.

The release does not state why the individual was on the cell tower, but says the death is under investigation by the Marion Police Department.
