URBANDALE, Iowa — Living History Farms in Urbandale hosted a naturalization ceremony, welcoming the nation's newest citizens.

Naturalization ceremonies offer immigrants the opportunity to embrace the rights and responsibilities of American citizenship. These ceremonies take place monthly in the Des Moines area and four times a year in Davenport.

Gov. Kim Reynolds administered the oath to the new citizens.

"Like those early pioneers, each of you made the decision to come here to start fresh, to build something new. You planted roots in a new land, worked hard, and today you take an important step not just as residents but as full and equal citizens of the United States of America," Reynolds said.
