ONTARIO, California — Calico Brands has announced a voluntary recall of about 175,000 Scripto Premium Torches after discovering they violate federal safety standards, posing serious fire and burn hazards.

The recalled torches, sold at Walmart and Home Depot stores nationwide and online from November 2024 through August for about $15, feature a four-position adjustable metal nozzle, adjustable flame, hands-free operation lock, black ergonomic non-slip grip and a metal base with black velvet on the bottom. The UPC number “0-70257-52226-6″ appears on the product box.

The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) said no injuries have been reported, but the company is urging consumers to immediately stop using the torches. Customers can return them for a full refund or store credit.
