LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - A monument honoring the extraordinary friendship between a Madison County teenager and a champion racehorse will be unveiled Saturday at the Kentucky Horse Park.
“The Bond: Two Hearts, One Spirit” monument features Cody Dorman, who had a rare genetic disorder, and his beloved namesake Cody’s Wish. The statue of Cody’s Wish and a monument featuring Cody will be permanently displayed near the Hall of Champions on a main thoroughfare for park visitors.
“I can see him just sitting there smiling right now,” said Kelly Dorman, Cody’s father.
Since losing his son at the age of 17 in 2023 to a rare genetic disorder, Kelly Dorman has watched as Cody’s legacy continues to grow. The monument represents another example of the lives his son touched and will continue to touch
